Oil drain plug temp sender
Gday,
I was changing the oil in my bug tonight when i realised that the torque for my oil drain plug might be different to that in the manuals.
I have a VDO oil plug temp sender.
Would this need to be torqued to a lower level than stock? |

its all in the feel ! whats this about torque ?
just put a new sump plug washer on and tighten it up with a spanner . Tighten like a spark plug, when it gets firm then a 1/4 turn more.

when i was putting it on i got all worried about stripping the thread so i thought i would check (but checked after doing it... a bit silly) |

The sump plate sender unit is probably done up the same as the original... so long as You use a new washer each time...
as Craig said..
Another thing I read somewhere many years ago was to use anti seize compound on spark plugs.. as its steel going into alloy...
to stop the steel & aluminium & heat reactions.. so I have been using anti seize on Spark plugs in All My vehicles for the past 15 years...
It does make them easier to undo...
