big bang... what happened?
I was driving my splitty today and there was a huge bang like an explosion, more like ametal against metal bang though, and then when I pulled over to
the side of the road the wheels locked up... scared the absolute BEJESUS out of me... I figure it was the gearbox because it was crook anyway and the
gearstcik won't go in to any gears... what do you reckon happened?
Lucky I was planning to get a new gearbox anyway, just hope I haven't done any serious damage to anything else...

if the shifter had trouble staying in then this sounds like the problem evolved then went bang.
so it wasn't a big bang, it was an evolution problem.
Sorry just ahd to have some fun.

Helbus, that was the first bang I've had in that bus so a name might be born...

so with the rear of the car jacked up the wheels dont turn with the handbrake off? Might have to pull out the tranny. Have u had a look at the
exterior of the box to see if there is anything obvious ?

Hey bus356, I met you today! I gave you a hand to push the bus down the carpark at GCVD. Sorry to see it 'bus'ted (Oh yuk:puke). It will be
interesting to see what caused it to lock up.
Keep us informed.

G'day again Ratty, nice to meet you... I've seen you're posts before and knew you were down here but had no idea who you were... thanks for the
hand! Hope it turns out alright... I'll probably be spending a bit of time down there in the next few weeks so I'll probably run in to you again
soon!
I didn't try turning the wheels when it was jacked up but on the ground with the handbrake off the wheels were solidly locked up... I had a quick
look underneath but there was nothing wrong externally...
