6v to 12 v inverters

Was reading Jens post about putting a separate 12v battery in a 6v Beetle to run a CD player. With the main problem being charging up the 12v battery (due only having a 6v generator)

Well I was thinking if you can use a 6v to 12v voltage inverter to run a 12v radio, couldnt you also use it to charge up a 12v battery??

I doubt it I think it's all to do with amps output of the inverter.

Actually all Jenz, has to do is use an inverter to Power the 12 volt unit she wants to use...
so long as it puts enough amperage to power the CD player....

if Not then She could use it to charge the battery, when the CD player wasn't being used... but that doesn't make sense as Jenz will always have the CD player on..
Wouldn't She????

Yes it DOES ALL depend on the amperes used by the CD Player and the output in Amperes on the Inverter....

Then it continues on to the OUTput in Amperes of Her 6 Volt Generator....
or this can also be done in Wattage....

a CD player with a small wattage output still can do a good job... without using a lot of power...
PLUS the inverter wouldn't have to have such a high output..

and that all depends on Dollars used... too... :):)
