cant remember who it was, but one of the guys round here had a couple of tiny custom fab radiators in the gap beneath each of the vents anr reconed it
worked a charm. maybe something from a motorbike would fit?

Rumour has it that a Mk1 Golf radiator will fit sideways across the bottom of the side vents. You can put one on each side an plumb appropriately.
I have some info and pics somwhere, will get back to you.

man why would you bother with an EA 71 ? They were a crappy engine in the Subaru and they ar not going to like being in a Kombi.
Ask a few of the guys on here who had them in and you will find they all changed.
If it is just a stepping stone to get a water cooled engine in and then get a better one in later, fine but you will need more cooling with a larger
engine than with an EA 71.
You can use a Mk1 Gold Radiator and it will fit inside on each side of the engine. You will need to add some shrouds and stuff. DJ Mechanical at
Caboulture does a kit to allow you to bolt them in. Golf rads are cheap at around $195 ea inc new so are good option.
