New Air Cooled VWs on the Road in 2003

It looks promising - that there will be many Newly restored Air Cooled VWs on Our Roads in 2003.. including Mine... Maybe this Will Be the"Year of the VOLKSWAGEN" much better than year of the snake- lizard-Cow or whatever!!! I hope everyone has the best of Luck with obtaining the parts they need - WITHOUT ROBBING a BANK -- that Will probably be next Year...

Should have my 66 ragtop Herbie finished this year. But I'm not in a hurry. The slower the time the better the result. Got alot to do before I start hooning around in it.

errr aircooled...

well i'll definitely have a beetle on the road, but i'm not sure yet if it will be air-cooled! ;0 most probably water cooled with the words subaru plastered on it ;)

but it'll still look like a water cooled car, so :thumb for the year of the beetle :D

vdub2c or is it VW H2O... with Coolant

I suppose its better to have a Beetle with a subaru engine in it... than a subaru with a VW air cooled engine in it.
..:D:D:D:D:D:D:bounce:bounce:bounce At least it'll look like a VW Beetle.... and as You know - Looks areImportant ..... as long as its recognised as a vintage VOLKSWAGEN but please leave the Subaru badges at Home..... on the fridge..:D:D:D they make good fridge magnets

Herbie down under

Well its taken Me 6 years to restore My 68AutoBug and there is still a lot to do...
Well, really,I haven't touched it for 5 years due to ill health... so at the moment its stripped down and undercoated... just waiting for My son to finish some panel work as He's a perfectionist.... then I can get into the inside... I'm still deciding whether to have adjusters fitted to the front axle to lower the front... I find beetles were made to drive over plowed ground with their high ground clearance.
as Long as you make it to Nambucca-Valla
with a Herbie Tee shirt on...
I have been buying new parts for it during that time... I just hope I can remember how to put it back together....

The Dog-O-War will be coming off the road soon. I'll keep the rego up but the repair list is getting more and more extensive and out here I't needs to be far more reliable - although it hasn't let me down yet I think it's just waiting for the most inconvienent moment - like the first day of my new job.

A generious application of wire, fishoil, paint, POR15 and rubbers will be on the shopping list not to mention time, $'s and cuddles.

Might see me at Valla - Should be at the Stockton / Nationals and hope to be Dubbing somewhere near you soon - unless your in WA.
