Fuel Consumption
My 1300sp with a 30PICT carb used to average around 9 klms/lt in city driving. I replaced it with a 1600sp with a similar carb, now I only get less
than 7klms/lt. Is this reasonable? Looks quite low to me

No - it isnt great, but i wouldnt expect more than the 1300
You 100% sure your speedo is measuring right??
Mine was 20% low.
Only clicked 4kms against a a 5km highway tester / marker
Personally in city if you got more than 8 km/L i would be suspicious

Raf,
Sounds like your getting bad fuel economy!
Been checking the fuel consumption on my 65 Splitty with a 1600SP motor in it. It takes about 35litres of fuel and does a touch over 200 miles on a
full tank. My reckoning is that its doing about 26mpg or 11.05km/l. The bus is a devon camper with a full wood interior, engine stock with reduction
gears etc.

Steve, 200miles on 35lts? That's bloody good. I wish I got anywhere near that. I think its running bery rich but I am unable to adjust the carb. I
think its on its last legs. Might look for a replacement. I should've bought one last weekend @ Bacchus Marsh
