carbies and not idling
gday
ive recently chukked a 31 pict solex carby on my 1300 single port. and all's well, except that she wont idle.
dads been been fiddling with screws, but we're not sure yet. where would the idle jet be located in comparison to the main jet?
we can do it here or call volkshaven, but i cant afford professionals.

whats the condition of the carbie? it might need to be rebuilt. you could have a vacumm leak......is your vacumm line to your dissy connected well? of
if u are running a mechanical advance dissy is it blocked off well?

anthiron - near new, but unsure how long its been sitting. we think it is the vacuum port, checking it in the morning or after english exam (hsc =
bitch)
bone collector - original question... where is the idle jet? very inexperienced teenager here. thanks for that as soon as we locate itll be cleaned
out.
its goin to volkshaven on friday to be tuned, so hopefully theyll do it. good on ya lee!

well if its in the same place as the 30pict carbie then the air idle jet will be accessible if you remove the air cleaner and look down the throat of
the carbie it is screwed in on the side closest to the float bowl. little round brass thing with a screw driver indent in it is what it will look
like. .......unscrew it blow through it or even use a compressor and then raplace it. you might want to do the same with the main jet which is
accessed by removing the float bowl plug and if u put your screw driver in the hole it will come to the main jet screwed in halfway along in the
bottom of the flaot bowl.........this is much easier to do with the carbie off the car and in peices. ........do you have a workshop book for your
carbie? it might be different to this as these instructions are for a 30pict 2 carb........look for an expanded veiw pic of your carb it will help you
understand where everything is.
i bet its vacumm though just check vacumm first to save you the hassle

hey fella
we found the idle screw - didnt help us out
we covered the vacuum - didnt help us out
replaced carbie with 30 pict 2 - now its making a very odd squealing noise... then it stops idling. thier bothe being taken off to be tuned and
thoroughly cleaned by professionals, hope thatll learn them!

its not hard to put a carbie kit through yourself and you will learn how everything works.
