Broken stud
I've broken off a stud from my oil pump on my Kombi T4 motor! :cry
And to make matter worse after drilling the stud I've snapped off a high tensile steel allen key that I was using to try and extract it. So currently
the stud is flush with the case as is the allen key.
I can't remove or drill the allen key and if I drill beside it I feel I'm most likely to make a total mess of the case.
Any ideas ?

weld a nut to it and unscrew it , works for me

Thats a good one Neil,
never thought of that...
I broke off a bolt that holds My ATF/engine oil pump on,
but I managed to drill & unscrew the threaded piece....
Best to get help in Your case.....

I've taken advice and I'm getting a man that "can" to come around and extract it. He charges the earth but promises to extract the bolt. Finger
crossed.
The weld option looks good, I'll use that next time !

Perfection, at a cost. The man who "can" did. :bounce
The old stud removed, new insert fitted and all still perfectly in line. But it cost $275, worth it? Well it saved an engine teardown.
