1973 030 auto gearbox
Help needed. Why wont my kombi change from 1st to 2nd to 3rd when in drive? Its ok in 1st and reverse. It appears that the hose from the vac unit
wasnt connected to any thing,. Could this affect things. ? If so where does it hook up to?

the hose hooks up to the vacuum modulator on the side of the gearbox. Yes this will effect the changing push it on n tie or clamp it on so it
wont fall off. The modulator should be a round thing sticking out with a 1/4 inch tube hanging off it where the hose is to be hooked up,
Make sure its clean as well.

OK it goes either on one of the carby manifolds or the balance line between the carbies. once again clamp it or use a zip tie to secure .

well if it dont work then the box wont kick down a gear when you hit the accelerator... n it will just hammer away you can manually pull the
shift lever to lock it back a gear for hills but it will stay there and not shift when needed.
