Seat Rails
Hi everyone, i was out at u pull it today and i found an beetle with some faily decent front seats in it still and i was thinking if getting them but
i have a few questions.
the beetle im getting them out of seems to be earlier than mine (mine is a 1970 1500) but later than an oval, will the seat rails match?
also the back of the seats don't seem to lock back, are the suppossed to be loose and go back and forward all the time?
if not then something is missing and what would that be?
cheers Danielle

probably early/mid 70s seats, unless the seat looks like yours it probably wont fit your car. i dont think those ones ran on rails (unsure) and the
flopping around is the crude way of allowing back-seat passengers in and out.

not sure on year of the beetle in the wreckers, but it is wide 5 so its older than our 1970.
and we have no idea what the original seats look like, we have some dodgy ass seats someone fitted.
but the rails onto floorpan look similar?

Just get another set of rails and just weld them to the floor..
I have a 1968 Beetle with one sided rails, and I have been told that the late model beetle seats that I have with double sided rails will fit OK... I
haven't tried the seats as yet...
I don't think the early seats will fit onto the late model seats with double sided rails... Vice versa maybe OK.....
Shouldn't have any problems getting early model rails...
Nothing held the back seat on the early models....
Your 70 beetle might have single sided rails??
