Look what I saw the other day

Just thought a few of you might appriciate these photos....

This german guy in the hills in southern queensland has a split screen graveyard, this was his pride and joy...

I went there with the aim of buying a split from him, his crazy prices put me off ever buying a split, I will stick to early bays.... but what a cool yard.....

All I said was "theres the crazy semi naked German in the back ground "

It was crazy because he is more obsessed with VW's than me or anyone I have ever met, and seems to know everything about aircooled engines and well....he's semi naked in the photo :o

He did tell me how much the samba was worth.... something absurdly ridiculous... cant remember.

I think you would be refering to Frogs old man on this forum as the crazy German.
Aparent legend when it comes to all things volksy.
The dark blue and white 21 window is for sale too, in that sneak peak shot

For the record.... I didnt really mean he was crazy, it was just a mad experience to go into the hills and come across all these splitties in one place together and find a guy who had worked on them for years and knew everything about them. He was actually very nice and incredibly helpful. I have spoken to him on the phone a few times since and he knows all there is to know about kombis! As you say Manx_xtc, a bit of a Legend.....
