That might be a no for forum dudes.
I beleive that the engine turns opposite direction.
For all the tech tips on this subject go to
shoptalkforum, I have seen extensive discussion about this there.

Yep I do have a corvair engine fully rebuilt ready for install into my 64 double door panel. Have not progressed on the install just yet because I
have been busy with a beetle project.
Yes they do spin in the opposite direction, you can buy a reverse rotation cam to spin them the "right way". Try Clarks Corvair parts (will
have to find the web address) for info. Supposedly they go into bay windows easier than splits so I expect to have to do some fabrication/modification
to get it to fit.
Give me an email for more info.

Do a search using google - I found (and have at home) a pdf document that shows a photo and a bit of information on a kit to install the Corvair
engine and transmission into an IRS beetle.
To my knowledge, this was one of the first engine conversions to be done to a beetle (or it might have been the Porsche powered herbie, I'm not
sure).
Wasnt one of the corvair models turbocharged ? How hard are bits and pieces / engines to get ?

Yep there was a model that was turbocharged. There was a basic 110hp engine and also a 140hp model, plus the turbo I think.
My father recently restored a corvair convertible and was able to get all parts required from the states no troubles. The dollar is the only thing
that kills us....otherwise getting parts is easy (not many lying around the wreckers though!).

Rhys, get a corvair motor and cut two cylinders off and it will fit nicely, then again get a vw motor and it will turn in the right direction.
