the last comment might have something to with the mods lots of manafactures(sp) made to thier cars to allow the wheel to sit on a protruded ridge on
the centre of the hub so the wheel would sit there while you started to put the wheel nuts in. vw did it sometime in the 70's.
its funny how the prices of things change. i was in germany in 2001 and these rims were about 400DM a set. (a DM was worth somewhere around the same
as an $A at the time).
