any bike nuts here?

not vw related i kno, but from the same era. i have been a dragster nut for 5 years now, buying and selling dragsters and cruisers and wondered if there was anyone else out there on the forum who shares my (other) passion? i also have a couple of bikes for sale at the moment if any one is interested

Yep, the dragsters etc are kewl...

I built a couple of low riders (although seat height was at a level where my girlfriend and I could actually ride them). Used old frames powdercoated and two pack accents plus clear coat, and all new parts for the rest of the bikes.

I am trying to sell these as well if anyone is interested, I want to build a couple of cruisers so I can cover some distance a little easier! alanagyik@hotmail.com

Got most of my stuff from locolowriders - didn't realise that there was a shop (cyco cycles) on the gold coast - a bit closer to brissy than melbourne!

EEECCCCCKKK, NigeType3, That downhill stuff is CRAZY.....single speed x country even crazier!!!!
I used to race Xcountry, did the NZ and Aust nationals. Had the Ritchey stolen out of the garage a couple of years ago and have just got around to buying another bike. Just a Cannondale but great to get back into it.....
Love the lowrider look.
Got myself a Schwinn and the jetbike, kinda like a lowrider.

I dunno about a bike nut, but i sure am a BMX bandit! Luv the lowriders, especially when they've got whitewalls. I'm into dirt jumps and skatepark and ride a pretty mean 20". And you wouldn't believe how perfectly a 20" fits on the back seat of a bug!

I too raced downhill comp here in vic.
Had a 16 1/4 in trials frame with no suspention , shook you around abit but a lot of fun.... maybe shook a few things loose in my head!
Bridgestone mountain bike full xtr set up ritchey rims ritchey logic super tubing frame ovalised at all joins.
Had a killer V Cannondale that was cool but too big.
I think by far you cant go past a Klein Attitude Mtb Tough, tuff , tuff, tuff.
But now am into the lowriders.
Post some pics people..... well done speedster.

Year use ta be into motorbikes was thinking of racing them until I had had it with cars hitting me. 3 times in all. Thats how i got into MTB doing rehab as I couldn't walk or run real good but had to exersize my leg as the mussels had just wasted away. Still have broken ligaments in my left leg and after a hard race everyone thinks I've had a stack due to me limping along. Just got sick of hanging out in hospitals so didn't git it fixed.
Still have my old Triumph shes a TR6R 650 twin had her since 89 and has just under 8000 mile on the clock. Just started to leak oil last year, thort is was to good to be true.

Well my brother likes mountain bikes, he raced for australia (downhill) in canada and switzeland. Our friend is Australia's best downhill rider. I had to drive him to an ambulance station in the Baja once, after a huge crash in the state forest.

Oh, and I like motorbikes. Had a few, but this is my first decent one.

A bloke i worked with was into it as well. Went to Hawaii and the states a few times.
He was in some national championship down the South Coast and he was flying - then the frame snapped clean in half.
Not pretty!
Some one raced him off - to hospital that is!

Just thought there might have been 6 points of connection!

Wes that dos't supprize me as some of Australias fastest DH rider's male & female come from Quensland. Must be something in the water over there. But the future is going to be all West Oz as a young bloke from my club Sam Hill (he is only 17) won the world junior champs last year and the Jindabine(spelling?) Extream Chalange this year against the best riderers in the world. When you consider we in WA ride down hills compared to mountains thats bloddy good going.

P.S. my wife is with baby so my DH bike is for sale she won't let me sell hers, recons ive got soft.

Cheers Nige
