Gear box Query
Having trouble finding second gear in my kombi, anyone know any tricks adjudments that can be made??
I dont think the gear box is buggered cause she goes in and changes ok, just needs a bit to much help for my liking.
Any ideas or advice appriciated,maybe a new linkage somewhere???

Just try and see if you can adjust it a bit.
All you do is look under the floor mat, if you have one and you will see that the gearstick is held in position by 2 bolts.
Undo them a bit and move the whole plate back or forward I forget which way, only has to move a couple of mm and then tighten it up again , try that,
if worse move it the other way.
Might help. worked for me.

Dozza,
Check the coupling just in front of the nosecone of the gearbox.
Some more things but depends on what year Kombi/gearbox?

I had trouble finding 1st and 2nd so I took my bus to volksworld in windsor and they fitted a new coupling ( in front of the gearbox) and now it works
a treat. The gearstick almost feels like a NORMAL car, amazing.
