rear torsion bar tube - beetle

what sort of grease for this?

and...
when you take the torsion bars out it releases the pressure and they move down!
do you put them back in in the position they come out - as seems possible, or do you have to re-apply the torsion, which seems difficult!
perhaps should of left them in, bt I wanted to see whether they needed greasing!!!!
the grease seems obvious now - and I was told rubber grease for the bushes

best to put them back at the same angle (unless you want o lower or left them). once the tension has been released. you should have measured this.
best way is to put a trolley jack under them and jack them up and then put some pressure on the end plate to pull them over the lip (also use a large
screw driver, but be VERY VERY careful, as there is alot of force in them if they slip!!)
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!

Use plenty of Moly black grease ..... you need a protractor to set up the correct angle for the trailng arm.
