Never seen "off the shelf".................but trikes have a similiar setup..............around $1500 I've been told???

I've ceramic coated my buggies exhaust, solves two problems at once #1 Heat from the exhaust #2 Won't rust.

Cheers

Not sure how stainless exhaust would go on an offroad vehicle? A guy I know used to have one of those old wooden ski boats with a holden 186 motor that had stainless exhaust and he said it was a mistake...was always cracking as the stainless is quite brittle.

I think craig has the right idea because you maybe right about that 11cab- so are there any off the shelf ceramic headers- its rust im looking at preventing.... all the high temp paints I've applyed have rusted through- mainly i think from camping trips when i don't get to wash the car down for a few days time.

if your interested I can get you one like mine.....

it's coated inside and out and run's a 5" super trap

the cost is around the $550 landed here from the US, and before anyone says anything about the price..... think about the cost of a pipe like this and how much it would be to then get it coated

I will put a link instead for a pic as to not hijack the post

Being new to the buggy world, and having the standard bug exhaust fitted to my buggy, I am interested in alternatives. But, I don't know anything about them really.

Can anyone explain the relevant things I need to know? 'Headers'? 'Trap'? Ceraminc coating?

I can't forsee my buggy doing much off-road in the near future, I'm not near salt-water, so probably just looking at an exhaust that does the basics and doesn't stick out the back as much as the standard bug exhaust. All guidance appreciated, thanks.

Phantom this is the type of exhaust most guys use (avail from our sponsors) http://www.customoffroad.com.au/partFull.asp?partid=2 they give a little more power and better clearance.... when hpc or ceremic coated it makes the exhaust look like it made of alloy or stainless.... giving a nice look, easier to keep clean, and better heat sheilding.
