bent frame head question

measured my frame head today and seems to be 4-5mm out( like driver side has been pushed back) i only measured it because the owner before the previous owner (hope that makes sence) told me in 98 he had a crash in it where it ended up on its side after he hit the gutter real hard, i new it had had a dingle but thought it was all panel work till this morning,

5mm seems alot what are my options?? in the long run am i better off ditching the project?:puke

you could ditch it or you can shim it (quite dodgy)
or get an oxy welder heat it up till its hot red/white and try and straighten it out I did this once with half a front end and an old drive shaft in one of the tubes it seemed to return to its original position quite easily I would recommend reinforcing the frame head afterwards though
or you could cut the frame head out buy a new one and weld it in I think Mick motors sells them.

you can fix it.

The best way to fix it is have it put on a rack.
Have the fuel tank out.
On the side that the bulk head is pushed back cut a slot.
When the pull the front back to being straight ,you weld up the slot.
This is just a rough guide. you`ll get the idea i hope.

Everything 36HP !
Change over king and link spindles
6-12volt semaphores
