Crack in Head...
hey guys, am getting my engine rebuilt and i went past the mechanics to check out how it was coming along and he told me the heads had their new
valves put in and he showed me then and i noticed a small crack inbetween the intake and the exhaust valves... and i didn't want to say anything to
him. is it ok for this crack to be there? wouldn't the intake and exhaust leak?
thanks mike

no cracks allowed, as they open up when hot and it will just stuff up your engine or as dave says (i`m still thinking in a watercooled way) as just
gone totally air-cooled:thumb:thumb

A crack between the two valves is not too bad, they will keep going for years,
When they are cracked between the valve and spark plug, thats when you chuck 'em in the bin.
