Make sure you get the later one with the cooler, otherwise if you do alot of highway driving in 5th it will stay there permanetly as it welds it self
together from the heat

I had made enquiries only earlier this week regarding 915 porsche boxes to fit to my dualcab . The porsche wrecker informed me that all late model 911
porsches ( 1974 on ) are fitted standard with the 915 tranny . Only the really late models were upgraded to the G50 h/duty transmission

What sort of difficulties are we looking at to fit a 915 porsche box to a beetle (66 model). is it acheiveable.... what sorta moneys a 915 box worth?
Old school beetle with 5 spd gearbox has a nice ring too it. :thumb

915 in good nic $3200 in vic . centre of diff spline to bellhousing face 8mm longer compared to a s/s/plate box ,from centre of diff to shift rod
150mm longer I think .

Do you need to aquire a engineers certificate to fit one of the suckers? Can you please send me the details regarding the install into a beetle
please. Am keen as as my current box is rooted i need to do something. May as well make it special! cheers
