Russ runs 10.05

Those of you wondering if T4 motors are any good for drag racing, My good friend Russ Fellows ran a 10.05 and 10.06 at the weekend.unfortunately I believe he had his first retirement in god knows how many years when he split a barrel.
His 60' time of 1.44 was nearly his best ever on the final run which would have been in the 9's.

Thats well wicked ! I bet he is just itching for a 9 eh ?

Interesting how when he went turbo from NA, his times dropped by over 2.2 seconds but his terminal speed only increased by 10mph !

Would love to know some more details about the 911 head swap - I read a bit in one of the UK mags about it but as usual it showed very little detail. At least with a 911 you dont have water jackets to contend with (I have seen a type 4 with EJ20 subaru heads on it too, another pommy invention !), but it would be neat to see how he has shortened the head and cam by a whole cylinder !

71 x 104 seems pretty oversquare too, I guess the engine is pretty revvy ?

Great effort !

Oversquare? well there are so many things about this motor that dont follow convention that we went past caring lol.
