Syncro spare wheel bash plate

Anyone alter the spare wheel carrier bash plate at the front of their syncro? Just put 15" merc rims on with big tyres and the bash plate only holds 14" wheels.Couple of syncros on Bribie with 16" wheels have the spare wheel on the back door or inside. The pic is of one that has been modified for 15",just wondering if there is another way. I will be putting one on the back door and another spare in the bash plate.

Southern Van,
this does not relate directly to this post but...are you aware of the Australian Yahoo Syncro site? There are plenty of us on that site who may be interested in this.
Also, I am keen to get as many members of the site as possible.

Thanks pod, They all seem expensive to me.Was going to get one from germany for 235 euros, but they put the price up to 275 euros plus 95 euros for shipping.Guy on the island says he can get them cheaper,if not going to make my own.
