Fly Wheel

How do you tell the difference between a 6 volt and a 12 volt flywheel?

6 volt flywheels (not type 3 ones) generally use a 180mm clutch assy. 12 volt have a 200mm clutch assy. Measure across the area where the clutch pressure plate fits in. If its a little over 180mm its a 6 volt. If its a lot over (like more than 200mm its a 12volt. Unless its a Type 3 6volt flywheel. Confused yet?

119 teeth - 10 3/4 inch dia

130 " - 10 7/8 inch dia

I'm pretty sure that the 6v is the 10 3/4 inch dia.

I have 2 flywheels that have 200mm clutches but are different sizes. Trying to work out which is best to use so i can get it balanced. The one that came off the car doesn,t look like it was meshing proply with the starter as the teeth are slightly worn one side where as the other one is perfect.
