Wheels and hubcaps for a 71 square.

Sorry for my ignorance guys, still a newbie.
I have a 71 square with rivieras, i want to change these for steel wheels and vw caps.
Do vw's have the same steel wheel across the range? also what hubcaps fit which wheels? And do you have to use vw rims to get hubcaps that fit?
Also what size rubber can you get on steel rims?
Thanks guys.
Side note, I read on samba that you can self lower type 3's, do you need anything to do this? parts etc? spindle kits??
THANKS!!!

type 3 rims are slightly different if you want to be piccy but any 4 stud rims will fit or five stud if it is an early one but guessing by the rivieras its a late
one

i,ll swap you if you want i,m in bris

Whats wrong with the Rivieras?

Seeing as it's a 71, standard 4 stud rims will fit, along with the flat hubcaps. Tyres will be 165x15, but depends on how low you want to go. If you slam it, go 165s on the back and 145 or 135s on the front.

Lowering is as easy as twisting the front torsion bar and rear swing plate. Best to put it into your local VW mechanic to do it by the sounds of it. Will be done in a day.
