Different kettle of fish perhaps but the ex cop VP I had the misfortune of owning had a real high pitch whine under acceleration or when at constant
speed, quieter when backed off but still there. The whole diff, axle & bearings assembly had to be replaced & the guys in the workshop said
it was the worst they had seen & couldn't re-use as much as they had hoped. But dont they always say that :thumb
Yours may not be as sinister, could just be an airleak etc as suggested, hope so for your sake...good luck
On the plus side the car was stolen from my driveway about a month before I had the diff done so they dumped it about 500m from our house in a back
