removal of bushes on L bug front end?
any ideas? our best guess has been pressing as hammering would be absorbed by the urethane.
we havent found the correct method as of yet, has anyone faced this before? we are removing old to replace with new and it has to be done before

Hi
They are rubber, what I do is run a hole saw through them. The inner ones have a steel sleeve, once the rubber is removed I cut the sleeve in one spot
so that i can colapse the sleeve, the sway bar one just about fall out when after hole sawing.

I used a small drill bit and drilled lots of holes through the rubber until it came loose and then used the same approch as Steve with the steel
sleeve.

I used a large shop press. and a piece of steel tube, they are almost as hard to get back in......... (well thats the inner ones, as most outers are 2
piece)
when i was getting the old rubber ones out, en ended up have them pushed out and left a layer of rubber inside, spent about 2 days slowpy buring and
scraping to ge them clean!!!
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!

I used an old socket the same dia as the steel sleeve. Laid the arm over two pieces of timber and layed into the socket with a lump hammer. Slow at
first but gets there.
