Scored myself a Ragtop!

Sold the GreenMeanie today....Gone to a very good home. Will be getting a new HiPo driveline....2.7 TIV donk with a lazy 200hp!
Some of the old HELLBUG boys will remember this bug...A fun car, with loads of good memories attached, but when the car of your dreams comes along....Well you know how it is!

Here's some shots of my replacement bug!

Scored myself a Ragtop!

As you can see, its a little rough, but looks worst that it really is!
A far bit of surface rust, but very few holes in it...The roof has some small spots, the rear gutter needs some loving and the driverside lower A piller needs some help.

The floor is perfect and the doors shut like new! The bonnet is sweet, with not a kink to be seen. I'm looking for an orginal interior for it as I only have the door cards, rear quarter cards and the bak seat base....I need both front seats and the rear back rest in the same colour scheme...Anyone help?

Also looking for Ali side trim, exterior door handles, engine cover and good running boards. Looking to keep a little ratty, as I restored the last bug, and regretted it! Should have left a nice bug alone and just hot-rodded it!

Of course my close-ratio trans and hottie 1776 will go in for now. Not sure if I'll SOOB it or keep it aircooled. Maybe some ERCO's!!! Oldskool!? Those that know me will know it wont be stock.... :thumb

Looking to take a slightly different angle on a rat....
Scored a very cheap late square to keep me mobil and it came with 4 wheel disc brakes, 16" rims, 4 pot calipers and gas shocks!....Looks like I might do up that IRS bug chassis I have, stick it under the rag, leave it ratty, but with big EURO rims under stock guards....Looking for some 17" 5 spoke rims...Something nice and simple, clean, elegant and NARROW! Gotta go low! If I can find some rims that are also a little ratty!...I have some 17" AUDI TT rims, but the bolt pattern is wrong and a drag to change now...And they are a little too chunky for the look I'm after....

I haven't seen anyone do a rat like that....Hey that ryhmes!
Sorta KAFER-RAT-LOOK!

Hmmmm! Whatyareckon?
