Twin Solex vs Single Weber carbs
I have just been given a pair of Solex carbs on Kadron manifolds with linkages and air filters. ATM I have a single 40 DCNF weber on my buggy, which
is a 1641 TP.
What set up is best?
I would need to cut holes in the body to clear the air filters if I fit the twins, so I'm not going to fit them if it's not worth it.

For your motor I would think the single would be better....
Without seeing the new carbs I think you may have a full set of kadrons witch could be 40 each witch would be a bit to much for what you do..... And
the little improvement you would get is out done by the fact you have to cut up the body
I may run them, but it's a bigger motor not a 1641 and it is easier to filter one carbie
But by all means keep them for when you build a bigger motor…..:thumb

If you have a set of Solex kadrons, run them, they are ideal for a 1600 twin port engine, chuck the single Weber in the bin, you won't be sorry!!

They work fine on a 1600, and would be better than a single Weber.

Kadrons=Solex and they are 40mm carbs with 28mm vents whereas your 30-Pict are 30mm carbs wiyh 24mm vents. |
