Do I need a new alignment?
Hi
My car had a wheel alignment 1 year ago with the stadard 15 inch
wheel.
Everything is fine.
But now I have put on a set of 14 inch wheels ( 6 inch)
Would I need a Wheel alignment again?
thanks in advance

Hi Dave,
New set of tyres scrubed out $160 upwards
Wheel alignment $35.00
You do the sums
Oh and your camber might need adjusting to suit wider tyers anywaynn[ Edited on 1-7-2005 by beerdoc ]

i suppose it depends on how many miles and pot holes/gutters you hit in your driving time..
is the steering wheel pulling to the left or right when you drive on a nice clean stretch of road??
probably wouldn't hurt and they can check ya front end etc while its there..

I get mine done every 6months at a min, sometimes more often depending on what type of racing iam doing.
If its a L bug and th bushes are old you may get alot more movement and may be worth while replacing these before the wheel alingment.
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!

THnx for replies so far.
My car is a L bug. It drives perfectly straight with the standard wheels.
Its just I got these secondhand wheels with tyres on them.
( not new tyres)
I had them balanced, and put them on.
But I wasnt sure if these 14 x 6 inches being wider then
standard 15 inch steel rims would make a difference, and hence
needed a alignment.
Could someone tell me is there any special place to get a
wheel alignment in sydney .
The car drives ok with these 14 x 6 . may be I just pay for the
alignment . not sure.
thnx
David

No need to just because of the wheels. But if you want to make sure, Hornsby Wheel Alignment knows how to do VWs
