Clutch

For a EJ22 Conversion 130HP engine in a 74 Ghia I was told that I need a Kennedy Stage 2 pressure plate and a 6 button clutch disk. Is this to much? I was thinking of a Stage 1 and a stock clutch.

For my EJ22 conversion I am running a 215mm Sachs clutch as fitted to a Type 4 VW engine. The next size up 228mm? would be better, but I would have needed a 2L bellhousing and starter motor to fit to the gearbox. 130hp is not a brutal amout of power.

that's overkill, and don't go with a button clutch unless you like a difficult to use clutch that is prone to shudder.

I have ~200HP and am running a stock VW kombi 228mm clutch with the Mazda pressure plate (which isn't particularly heavy).
