My oil thingy (the pipe that you pour the oil into) has a hole in it!! It explains why I've been having burning smells coming from my engine lately
and why half my foam around the engine has been burnt off
I'm taking the poor girl down to the mechanics on Monday. My dad is suggesting a "bandage" to stick on it till I get it there. Is that what I
should do??

I had the same problem with mine a while ago. The mechanic brazed the hole up. First stripped the paint then brazed it then repainted. It's as good
as new and cost about $50. I suppose you could also put a new one on.
If you want to bandage it with something it will have to be something that won't come off in high temps or oil. Maybe stick a metal plate over the
hole with some of that engine block/transmission crack filling glue. Gotta be properly clean first.

I just need something temporary while I get the thing down to the mechanic.... its about a 2.5hr drive.....
also this is inside the engine bay so theres no paint to worry about.....

The fabric tape (or "race tape" as some call it) will do a temporary fix. Make sure it's clean and dry before sticking it on. Should be fine with
the temps it will see there, just make sure it's firm and won't end up in the fan!

If it is a type 4 engine then the filler tube can just be pulled off, degreased, cleaned in hot soapy water and then simply glue it up with some 5 min
glue or similiar.
Good as new, no mechanic needed.

I have a hole in my bellhousing so schmoke and schlipp clutch happens.
posting this here cause its only half a hole (not WHOLE )
if i kleen reely good what can i use to block it/ glue it ...will have some pressure from diff.
is aboit size of cotton bud end.
happened when a piece of chisel broke off and slammed around in clutch dept.
I thought 3-4 staggered attempts of araldite..any ideas

You can also bind the tape in place with fence wire so it's less likely to come off and end up in the fan. Looks crap but does the job!
