Subaru measures exhaust temperture ??

I pulled out my factory exhaust sustem to night as I recalled there was two sets of wires near the oxygen sensor .
The second uint looks like it measures temperture ?

This could be fault 39 ????? I fit it up and see

any one see this before ?nn[ Edited on 27-7-2005 by seagull ]

Hi Neil,

I think it is of the second oxygen sensor, the subies have two catalytic converters. (At least over here)

Jörg

Checked it, I was wrong, two cats but just one oxygen sensor.

Mine has a heat sensor on it as well, after the cat. I asked Andrew at Sunspares about it when I picked it up and he said that my model (non-turbo) doesn't need it and it's not on my wiring diagram.
The Mazda RX7 S6 instrument cluster I'm using also has a warning light for over-heat exhaust, so maybe something just for turbo cars?
Is it on your wiring diagram?

Yeah my WRX had it, I think it's for overtemp as suggested. Something to do with the cats in the exhaust.
It might monitor cat performace using temperature.nn[ Edited on 27-7-2005 by speedster356 ]

You shouldn't need it as your motor is a non-turbo, but then again your motor is so different to everyone elses...plastic thermostat housing and all!

yes it would have to be ( ME ) I had an email to day telling me my motor was 110kw this was from the BG5A56E model number I gave some one . that seams a lot from a 2ltr non turbo subaru motor .Mind you I have now removed the twin cats twin mufflers and all the reduced bore pipe work that was on the front cut .

lets see how it goes like thisnn[ Edited on 29-7-2005 by seagull ]
