Turbo drag beach buggy

Hi

I am in the process of getting parts to build a beach buggy for drag racing.
Is there anybody that uses a buggy for drags, that runs sub 12 seconds?
I would like to know what the roll cage specs would be?

I am planning to build it with a VW auto trans, Build my own mildsteel (Building on a budget) chassis that puts the driver in the centre and build a funnycar cage for the driver.

Dont know if centre seating position is legal, if not i will build the chassis for normal seating position.

Thank you
Hermann.

Hermann,
Henry Spicak built a drag manx back in the late '80s and ran it in the ninetys to a low eleven with a N/A 2330 vw engine.
Center steering and no doors are the problems that don't let you run in any classes within ANDRA.
Henry was alowed to run his buggy in B/HR but the reality is that the engine must be up front to be legal in that class.
Get youself an ANDRA rule book before you start and save yourself alot of work and heartbreak.
