Golf diesel into yacht info?
hey all
along the lines of the fella wanting to put an air-cooled vw motor in a boat - my father is looking for an alternative (and cheap) motor for a
yacht...Linde use golf diesels in fork lifts and they seem like a reliable fuel efficient little beast..
anyway, he's interested in the older motors - without all the electronic gadgets...
what sort of hp do they make?
and in what rev range?
how heavy?
approx dimensions?
if that all checks out does anyone have one they want to get rid off in Brissy/Gold Coast region?
cheers

the old mark 1 golf diesel is an excellent engine for its time.
they are 1500cc, make 50hp and i think the rev to 5600rpm??? but make good power and torque all the way through.
definately a reliable engine
talk to crazy george on here and im sure he will point you in the right direction
