I been looking for one as well , so far have found a few on your side of the world but just to hard to get them back .The toyota that was for sale here would of been a good buy but the vw would be a ( softer ride ) for your bones Wes .
The 4x4 is very expencive but the motor dyes first .just drop a subaru in and your away .But these days some of the import vans are so cheap new why would would you get a van and change the motor ect .Have a look a import turbo 4x4 van I have seen them on the web for 15K or less .

There are not too many (if any) Caravelle Syncros in Aus. They are usually Transporter window vans or Panels (ex telstra) They are not too difficult to get comfortable though. Find youself an early 1.9 Caravelle for about 3 or 4 k and swap the bits over. Then sell the Craravelle with the transporter interior. Not so simple, but if you can restore 2 splitties you don't seem to be frightened by a challenge!

Wes, Found the one advertised last week, it is here.

http://farmhub.com.au/DesktopDefault.aspx?UsedCarID=1082290&TabID=3328&Alias=...

Price is good, has the good air conditioner and it is a factory Caravelle. Has a few K's.

I have recently located a dual cab syncro (actually two).. Trying my best to convince the owner to sell.. (he has just bought Toyota 4wd) But he thinks will take it to the farm.. Other one, (i have been told by guy who does the service) the owner will never part with.. Haven't spoken directly to him yet though.. There was a syncro van for sale at a recent VW meet.. Can't recall where just now but will think on it.. Good luck in your hunt.. It's a bit of fun.. Rob

I did have the unit advertised on this site in Nov with photos etc. I will see if I can find it and bump it up. I was asking $24,000, but am open to meaningful dialogue.:rudolf
