Iswinkles car would have to be gunning for it, also Debiasi4 is building a fairly serious balck oval drag/street car that should run 10's. Hoping my
car will get close, be happy with mid to low 11's.

While i'm not interested in a Berg trophy, I do hope to do a 10 second 1/4 mile pass one day. I'm not going to be trying that till I get a new
gearbox though.
There is 1/8th mile drags coming up soon in Innisfail (1 hour south of Cairns) soon. So I fully intend to be there, and with any luck win the event
outright. There are some quick XR6's, Skylines and a few quick v8's but they all need top end and none of them get any kind of traction over the
1/8th. I've seen the 60ft time for the skyline and it was over 2.1 seconds with slicks!
A vw on a bad day still does a 1.7 60ft.
Armed with my 1.48 3rd gear and tons of new turbo'd stroker torque I think i'm going to have me a very nice day!

I hope you have deep pockets stuffed full of money
It takes a lot of time and funds to get into the 10s ,,,, I hope you do, but remember its costs money to go fast ...so you have to work out how
fast do you want to go.
If your doing 10s the car WONT be very streetable...
ask some of the guys on here Dave Butler Rod Penrose Peter Page etc etc

Except for the noise and poor fuel consumption my blown 1775 engine was very drivable.
But it is not, nor ever was a street car.
A turbo and EFI would make all the difference...I think only the radial tyres would stop a Ten...unless you have 140mph on board( which is possible)

I'm eager to see Ian Swinkels times down the strip.... he has both the technology and displacement to be making BIG ponies with his new 2332 turbo
EFI, once he gets his big transmission in he should be able to hand it some punishment.....
And I'm sure that Wayne's oval has a bit more in it, mayber some more boost and tuning.... who knows ?
And personally I would have thought a 800kg beetle with a 2.3 or 2.9L turbo EFI motor would be plenty streetable.... probably more so than my 1835
with bad kam, kadrons and 009 flat spot...... at least the EFI motors would start first time

I think 325 Kw would do it.

2714cc no turbo, no gas, street bug (140Kw)

I'd be keen one day....and yes, it's still a volksie, just an extremely modified one (don't want to get into the whole 'but it's gotta be an
aircooled to be a volksie').
I look forward to the day Ian and I line up, man, that would be cool :thumb

Dam straight! It would be a blast alright. I'd love to see Reub's car over for the Mundoo drags. It would be awesome to see two VW's take out
all the top race classes and compete on an even slate with the turbo six's and 8's.
As for streetable, even with a soft tune its still very drivable on the street. I can change to 4th and cruse around at 1200 RPM. The engine idles
smooth at 950RPM.
When I crank more than 4-5lb boost into it it will become a problem though. I'm going to use an electronic boost control system to ramp the boost on
slowly so as to be able to keep traction and help reduce the risk of transmission breakage. With just a bleed valve I'd hit full boost by 2500 RPM
and immediatly be sideways.
The clutch took some getting used to as well. You can launch smoothly if you keep the revs up, but try and leave sedately and you end up hopping all
over the place.

Yeah I heard about them on the shoptalk forums. That twin turbo beast with the water jacketed autocraft heads, running something like 2.1 bar boost.
Sure it might have a number plate but its not really a "street" car.
I'd like to see that drive to the local supermarket or through a drive through takeaway.
I drive my 2332 turbo to work every day and occasionally do the shopping in it.

took the oval for a cruise on the weekend , was going to drive it up to Boris' picnic day but the weather didn't look that great in Wollongong . I
cruised down the freeway from work to home ( 15ks ) at 60 mph and no overheating problems . Only menaced 1 V8 holden ute as the passenger was taking
video of me on his camera phone . They were very impressed by the display of acceleration in top gear , and applauded me as they passed by after I
had backed off . Had no problems cruising with the traffic at 40mph in 4th gear along the highway . Wife Lisa wanted to go for a ride , so early
Sunday morning took her for a slow cruise . She was very impressed until I stomped on the GO pedal ! Her instructions were clear and precise .... you
f...ing idiot , dont ever drive that on the road again !! then in the next sentence she tells me how impressed she is with the performance of the oval
. Just cant work her out sometimes !! Today young Michael . one of my staff members took the oval for a drive and could not believe how smooth it
drove at 50mph and then how hard it pulled when he squeezed the throttle . A VERY STREETABLE BUG WITH POWER TO BURN !!
