NEW ENGINE, NEW GEARBOX...HELP!

The engine and gearbox in my 1973 Kombi have both been declared deceased a few months ago. I'm very interested in any information on Subaru engine conversions: prices, where to find them, how to do it etc...

I have gotten about $4000 together for the job so far but am willing to pay a bit more $5000 possibly. I need my big blue baby back on the roads, and water cooled!

Anyone have any know how or experience with complete engine failure and gearbox suicide that has gone for a Subaru conversion????

Try custom off road in Brisbane. Here is a link to a previous thread on this subject.

Also do a search for 'Hellbus' in the conversion section, over the past 6 mths. He has done this himself using Custom Off Roads prefab conversion goodies - will probably be closer to your price raneg to do it your self! And from what i can tell its all pretty straight forward!
