Hi !

Hi all

I love this forum, been reading all the tech posts to get some confidence for my wifes new toy (67 beetle) . Its her car, but I drive it whenever possible "I just got to check the brakes sweety".
Adjusted the points today and it's going better already.
Can't wait for a workshop manual.
I'm excited!

I'll try attaching a pic

Great looking car.

I think this is the one I see from time to time crossing the Spit Bridge?

thanks everyone

Her name is Betsy and yes she probably would have been crossing the spit (with her ex!) . Now she'll be a bit further north cruising around mona vale.

Idiots guide is on its way, along with a couple of other books, looking forward to alot of tinkering to keep her happy.

You will definitley have fun. It is good to get in and have a go.

I like the Idiots guide too. Great fun to read even when you are not actually working on the car.

Thanks everyone,
Got my books now: muir, bentley and Tylers how to restore. A mate has the wilson for me from his plane project which now won't be using a vw.They're all good except the beetle is an aussie67 with the older body. I ordered the 66-69 bentley manual before i knew, but it covers my engine which is a 68 1500 originally. I haven't measured cylinder sizes yet.
The muir lives in the car. The bentley and tyler take turns in the bathroom :blush
Oil and screen, valves adjusted, timing set, clutch freeplay, general tidy. Plugs, rotor and cap next. Easy stuff is fun. I know sometime soon the more involved lessons will come.
bye
