t25 fuel tank woes

whilst fixing my fuel tank breathers (someone blocked them off with flywire and putty) pulled the filler neck out to drop the tank ok ,but when i put it back in the rubber ring which goes inside the rubber ring on the tank ,which the neck goes into keeps popping out when it goes in...
any ideas people as to how to keep it there?????about ready to throw a match in there:grind:

Can only assume you dont have it at the right angle.

I had to take mine out as well as i diddnt have the right breathers.
It should just "push" in

Will dig the manual out and go take a pic of mine if ya like.??

ok - not too sure about the "rubber ring which goes inside the rubber ring on the tank"

Anyway here is a pic of mine -can you describe what bit??

I know what you mean about the breathers.
I originally had hose for the fill back and it would block with petrol. Take about 2hrs to fill with petrol
