I'm so cool, now i have HOODJAX!!
free plug here but went for a spin with my newly aquired hoodjax today---same road, same ambient temperature, same speed (flat out for 20 minutes) in
the big 1640 and guess what?
10 to 16 degrees cooler engine temps thats the difference from 105 to 90'c well worth it!!
easy, non intrusive initial install, good adjustabilty, removed on the side of the road in seconds with NO tools to go back to the security of a
closed lid! AUSSIE MADE!

anyone going to the day of who has experiance with adjusting HOODJAX? i got it installed no worries, but cant open the lid when the brace is on

Hey mate try and bend up gently on the latching piece of metal that catches onto your locking catch. You will have to screw out your buffer rubber a
bit aswell to stop it rattling. Thats what i had to do and years on no troubles.

hey eddie, the latch is fine (or it will be after i weld one on) its the top lip. it sits fine and opens and closes nicely when it's in the standard
position, but doesnt clear the top lip when the hoodjax are in place

sounds like you nee to bend the extension arms of the hoodjax down a bit.i also used the nut adjusters to send the cross bar (flat) as far as possible
into the v.w mounts, thus getting the lid away from the car as much as you can before bending anything.

i had to take my hoodjax off - couldnt close the lid due to the top lip also or ive possibly installed them incorrectly....
love the pin idea though - i leave the pins in still so can pop the hood on and off as i wish....
another idea that my auto elec thought might be cool is that maybe part of the kit? is a male/female joiner for the rear number plate light wire - so
you when you take the bonnet off you can easily detatch the wire also.. less muckin round..? just an idea...

Each Hoodjax set needs to be 'custom fit' to each car on first installation. You need to get a pair of pliers/vice grips and carefully bend the legs
of the hoodjax down. Do it a couple of mm at a time (same amount each side of course) until there is 'swing' clearance to be able to get the lid
open/closed between its lip and the body
It's all explained/shown in the pictorial instructions

Yeh, i had the same problem about clearence with the Jax installed. Like everyone else said, you just need to bend the arms down a bit - 5mm or so?
Trial and error baby... As for the licence light wiring - I've already done what bond has suggested - works fine. Word of advice is though, loosen
up the female joiner (seems like we always have loosen up the females huh?  ) as it allows the male end toconnect and disconnect easier by one hand- coz the other hand's holding up the deck lid (unless you rest it on your
head.. works a treat. Also, make sure the power end of the connection has insulation around the terminal so it doesn't short out if it accidentally
hits the fan shroud..
