1600 to 1200 gearbox


hi all
what flywheel would i use for 1600 motor to 1200 gearbox but want to use 12v starter?

Use the 12V 1600 flywheel, but you will have to grind out the bellhousing on the 4 high spots and fit an adaptor bush for the starter shaft

The bush is available from Vintage in Sydney 02-9789-1777 if you need it.

the 1600 is out of a kombi will that make a differance?

i have a 1500 box down the back would it be easyer to swap the axles to the shorter ones and use it?

I can't remember if you need to chage the thrust bearing aswell. Does anyone else know?

Depends on what clutch n pressure plate you have fitted

So if you use stock 1600 plate etc, do you change the bearing or are you better of using the 1200 plate etc?
