Prep work on my 63 beetle

I've literally just started stripping my beetle tonight and I'm after peoples tips on geting all the grime off.

firstly there is almost like calcification mixed with rust on the inside roof, any tips other then sanding it off?

Then the 42yr old glue residue left all over the inside?

Plus any other useful tips for cleaning her out before we start metalwork prep.

Anyone?
Only suggestion I can offer is paint stripper or strip the car and get it blasted. If you aren't going all stripped down, paint stripper with lots of drop cloth's. As for calcification... :duh, aside from saying sounds chemical and nasty you're on your own there!!

and 32 grit paper....go the thick stuff...wire brush off the build up. Also get a 3M strip and clean disc...grinder version is best, but drill option will work....that will clean off the crap without ripping into it too much....there's not much option on the glue, but if it's crusty it will come off else it's back breaking thinners and wire wool time....

Just done 3 months of this....it's dead boring...but works out in the end...no quick fixes....I found just doing 30 mins a day on crud removal was not too brain killing...
