That bloody spring for the engine cover!

We are having trouble trying to fit the spring into the engine cover holes, the spring has a lot of tension and cannot push back in place. Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanx in advance.

Eden and I are pros at that thing now!!

Basically, I hold the engine lid as open as it will go. Eden makes sure the spring is on the top-most notch thing, and uses chunky pliers to move each side of the spring into the holes at a time. And of course make sure the spring is the right way around..... :P

We used to have a shit of a time doing it. Eden has even got it in by himself before! So proud of him.... ;)

Good luck! :)

You could try.....

I was trying to fit a bling spring (solo effort) like PBB described and couldn't get it to go for neither love, money or a lot of swearing.

I did the reverse.

Removed decklid, put prongs in holes, line up the other end with the groove in the body bracket with the decklid raised in the open position. Push in and slightly down, the spring folds like it should and you slip the decklid in so you can get two bolts into the brackets. You should be able to steady the decklid and pop one bolt in per side finger tight. Put the others in, adjust decklid position and tighten....then 100 lagers and 4 poppadums......

enjoy

Yeah I'd confirm the above procedure - having the decklid off altogether makes it easier in my opinion.
