question for those who add water
more specfically those who run a radiator in the front, where do you run the hoses and where do you have the air flowing from/to, what do you all
think about a lotus elise style lid for a bug, would get air to come out thru it and if done right would look cool, but that still leaves the problem
of where the air comes from, i figure a air intake type thing like jak in the front, or thru the grill bit in some supers would be ok, but would a
opening that small be sufficent?

Hi
I just ran 1.5 inch stainless tubes down the side of my pan. The air went in through the vented front panel and out over the fron end, like Jaks
does.

Take away the red piping...guess that it is to the water to air intercooler???and replace it with copper and the radiator lines look exactly like
mine.
I obviously have grills in the front of my bug...although i now have a scoop under the front that ducts heaps more than the grill. In the oval body I
have been looking and the place I will run my next set up and it will be the same size alfa 33 radiator 600x300, and will sit on a slight angle just
off the front end with a scoop under the spare wheel well and possibly extra ducts from the small holes in the front gaurds. The flow out is nearlt
more important than the flow in, if done right it will draw the air through.

The way your idea will work, which is the other idea I had, is to kake an after market tank and sit the radiator in the hole where the old tank sat,
then you can have your lotus ducts.

Hi
The red lines were for the oil cooler, the clear lines of the left side of the car were the water to air intercooler lines. The radaitor pipes are
apinted black so are a little hard to see.
Steve
My air intake, you can see I had a small plastic chin spoiler, that often got wiped out. Intercooler radiator was at the front, then oil cooler and
radiatior

From the back. You can see the huge Davies Craig fan I used and the rubber flaps at the top, these would flap open at speed but shut tight when the
fan came on, just like the factory.

steve have you had any issues with clearance? the car looks rather low and the lines are rather open to the elements, is that just a sacrifice yu had
to make? like no other alternative at the time type thing, oh and what do you think about my idea of running the pipes on the floor of the tunnel,
coming out at right angles under the seat then exiting thru approx the same location as the heater pipe part on the rear and coming out thru the hole
in the frame head on the front end, its about 3inches wide 2high approx, seems like it would fit, especially if the clutch, accelerator cables and the
fuel lines were re positioned above them next to the shift rod, theres no heater cables to worry about btw, can you see any issues from doin this,
other than the pain in the a$$ job if the pipe cracked/split etc....

Hi
I had the odd line blow from old age, once I mounted the steel pipes as in the photos that was the end of any problems with clearance. The oil and
intercooler lines never had any problems. Mind you this was in Sydney which dosent have the best roads, with a trip in the country every now and
again. It would be good to have the lines inside the tunnel but if one gave any trouble it would be a pain.

yeah thats the only problem i can think of, about the tunnel idea, same goes for running them thru the sills where heater channel was, seems its one
or the other both have downsides unfortunately
