GOLF GTI MK1 1600 Motor for sale

Hi All, I have a Golf GTI Mk 1 1600 motor with injection and fuel pump for sale. The Motor was fully rebuilt 20000 km's ago and is the PRE POLLUTION 110hp motor. The block was bored 40thou, has the GTI Head with new valves/guides, new G grind cam and obviously ,new plugs/ gaskets/ bearings throughout. Crank was perfect, as they usually are! Still injected, it is currently sitting in a deceased Passat. This motor is a true powerhouse for a 1600! Offers??? I am in Adelaide, can comp test/hear running.

Golf GTI was released in 1976 just before EGR smog laws came in. They were 1600 110hp in the mk1 golf. The 1.8 112hp 8V came out in the mk2 (EV engine code) followed by the 1.8 140hp 16valve. Passats at this time had the 2.0 16valve. None of these cars were officially released here(VW may have had a few examples at the start of each model run). Motors/cars found their way here through private import.
