Hi

I’m speechless. What a waste of a good car. Talk about a tosser. And they think it was Australians who made it, that’s an insult. He deserves to be flogged with sausages at close quarters. Wonder what he thinks of Beetles

I know Jez Clarkson is a cult-tv-figure these days, and seems to have forgotten his original journalism roots, but he is being a twat. It's bar-room-brag with a film crew, and his one liners are getting old. And he is getting fatter and fatter, so hopefully he will soon not be able to get into anything but an urban tractor.

His superlative - well worn humour is just boring to me. All this to get a rise in the name of being a journalist. Not suprising then that his wallet has had a lot to do with that Braniac thing, in which his Top Gear, northern twang love child is equally full of one liners.

Seems a real shame as he used to write some great stuff in the 80s and 90s. It is a shame that the Piano didn't miss the car and hit his retro-Brain May-homage noggin and do us all a favour...complete shite.

I think you'll find that the shotgun blast spider webbed the windows which allowed him to shatter it so easily...

I don't understand the concept of destroying an old 911... makes no sense...

I don't understand what his problem is with a strongly made car that can sustain such damage and still be drivable.
The number plates were English.
The man's an idiot if that's the best use he can put an old World War 2 airfield to then he can get stuffed. He's always irritated me.

Toungue in cheek maybe, but what's so suprising about having a front end collision and then driving away? The endgine's in the back! There's no radiators in the front! And how is pouring acid on a duck tail going to disable a 911? It's not a ricer where the removale of a spoiler will lost you at least 50kW...

LOL - I think I remember where the motor is in a 911. I don't agree with it, just putting across a different reason behind his madness. :thumb

Top gear is on SBS tonight at 7:30.

Apparently he drives a Monaro down the beach. They should be destroying Monaros not Porsches.

Agree, I have a whole lot less respect for the man ... but it is still the clear out and out best motoring show on television... even if we do have to download them :P

Top Gear rocks... the Australian take off that is now airing (I think on 10) is dogs balls compared to it!

yes he bags it for being a fat lazy monster, but shows how well it can dig holes in the sand. Clarkson does whatever stupid thing he likes, as he gets the ratings in the UK. Occasional good stuff, but a lot of stupidity. His reasoning is that a car show that just goes on about cars is boring, as all new cars are basically okay.

So they opted to do things that are 'interesting' with them. He also owns the Top Gear Magazine (he used to write for performance car). Check the BBC website for more of his antics.

He did one last season where an Apache Helicopter tries to get missile lock on a Lotus Elise...then hit it with the gattling gun.

How about we crash test that fella? Put him in a cannon and fire him into a brick wall. The results may be interesting, seeing how thick headed he is to destroy and bag out a classic 911.

before we all loose it, the front apron was totally rusted out, you could tell from when backed up after crashing into the building. I bet the rest of the car was just as rusty. Besides in the uk, porsches are almost as common as in California. I wouldn't have done it, but the car is probably stuffed for them to do that to it. I'm amazed it still steered straight after they dropped the piano on it.

clarkson is bareable, but only in very small doses otherwise he grows on you, like a wart...

yes, destroying a 911 is a waste, but he's doing it for the mass market one liners, the way today tonight does its stories.

a mate gave me a few dvds with some of his shows on and, dont worry, he destroys lots more cars. in his top 100 cars of all time, the beetle came in at 100th (because his mum had one, and then another, and then another). I think a carrerra rated within the top 10.

he's a pom thru and thru as you cant miss the derisive tones in the lexus 4wd vs the rangie comparo and if any supercar is pitted against an aston or a tvr, then it aint got a chance (yeah right, wanker)

his test of the zonda, mclaren, lambo and a couple of ferarri was worth a look but apart from that its pretty boring stuff tearing around the airfield. after a while all the show did was make me think he was a total wanker and reinforce my "off road is more fun bias".

about the only thing i'd really like to see is if he gets to test a veyron, then lets see what sort of vw rubbish he can heap on it. bugger all i bet. haha

7:30pm 12-12-2005.
he comes out laying shiz on porsche. true to form...

but.. whats going on.. he rated the hoon factor monaro over a jag.. (lucky i only said rangie, aston & tvr above or else he would have made a liar out of me)...

also, cutting up on a beach.. some nice variety from the standard runway track.

of course i watched it, i was hoping for the veyron.!!! which one is the embarrassed smiley. haha

within the bounds of sanity, any motorsport on TV needs to be supported, its the only way we'll get more (hopefully 24/7 off road buggy and bike), just like i'll make the effort to attend any car/bike events within cooee so the organisers are motivated to run more...

plus, as its too cold for the shed and i cant stand commercials, it came down to big kezza o'brian and no doubt and indepth analysis of cronulla or the bald patch jeza and his mates fanging a commodore on a long hard beach... tough choice.
