When did bays come with Fuel Injection?

I have 2 bays, both 76 models, one has a 2litre with fuel injection and all the right brackets and fuel tank and all that junk. The other has a non stock upright engine, none of the extra brackets for EFI stuff, and a tank with only one fuel outlet.
The plan is to put the EFI engine in the other kombi.
When did kombis come with EFI, was it halfway through the 76 year? Anyone know what chassis number it started at?
Cheers

Volkswagen introduced L-Jetronic injection from 1975, i.e. chassis # 2X5 and later. However, I have a 1975 (chassis 265 xxxx xxx) with Solex carbs. as standard, there appears to have been a 'run-out' of carb. engines sent to other than the US market.

Indeed in Australia, some late Bays were still fitted with 1600 engines to special order.

So, you might find an EFI Bay from 2X5 chassis number on, but more frequent from 2X6 on.

G'day,
from what I understand there was 3 options, 2lt FI, 2lt carbs and 1600 TP from Aug '75 and these carried right through to the end of the Bay. I've got a '74 with 2lt FI that all looks right but I would say it's been converted.
Cheers, Ian.

I'm pretty sure all the utes came out with the 1600 motors, but most of them have been converted to type4 because the engine bay was the same as the later kombi's.
But I could be wrong.......

Mine is a ute, with its original 2 litre type IV. By the sound of it, Mike M.'s is too.
