Subi Engines?

Hey guys,

I have been lookin at sum Ej22's for my bug and i have become a little confused. Whenever i try and find out a price for one people ask RWD or AWD or sumfin like that. Now i thought that was all 2 do with the gearbox, am i mistaken? is there sumthin i should know? Subi's for dummies is what i need haha.

Thanx guys

You won't be using the gearbox so it makes no difference if the donor cars engine comes from an AWD or not. Give Custom Offroad a call, not sure of the number but do a search on the forum for them. Or Sunspares Subaru in Brisbane for prices on 1/2 cuts or engines.

As a guide an EJ 22 package with a warranty should cost no more than $1600 tops.

I sell them for $1850 with modified loom ready to go into a VW and they have a 10 000 / 3mth warranty. Not trying to sell you one just giving you an option.

ej wrx engine

that $1850 u quoted is that a turn key solution, carbs, ecu, exhaust, radiator, water stuff? etc.

Would i just need to buy an adapter plate.

I ask as i am intrested in fitting one to my buggy. But i do not want to take on a huge project.

This link will give you an idea of what work and parts can be required to do a Subaru conversion.
