New Body

Picked up a 54 oval today...bit of rust, but nothing my mates new $5000 kempi tig will not fix.....He wants to play with his new toy, so on the rotissery that I have made to hang off the rsj's in the garage will be the body and a pile of sheet metal and a case of beer.

Paint it, run all cooling, fuel, and new harness...full cage and carbon fibre bolt on bits, then attempt a weekend body swap. Anyone want to come help...I still havnt started serious work on the 914....

Matt, I can supply the bourbon and man power if you can supply the baby sitter.

After sorting out the major problems of over boosting (now needs a good dyno tune) in the Type 3 and running quite well, I have another problem...........no first gear (pop) well now its actually crunch.

Will need to get my spare Beetle box from Jak.

How many sets of lights does it take a $229k Carrera S to learn? UPDATE: Cayman S, M3, B4 now added to the list.

Congratulations GTMAC, how are the wife and baby going??
The key to your window of opportunity opening is to send the family away....more so the wife.I have bought mine a trip away for christmas. The kids are staying although they will either go to mum and dads or play around here whilst I do 5x24 hour days on the cars. Second week of feb.

Trev, what colour is that oval...the original coulour of the one I got(still interior) is a metallic blue grey. Some of your shots looked similar. What colour will it be?

yeah, it's metallic blue-grey :D
haven't decided what colour it'll be yet. I'm hoping to tackle the wiring in the next few weeks. It's winter here in Ireland at the mo, and there's no heating in the garage :(

Looks like the same colour...slate silver I think its called. I am thinking of keeping it original, as there are not many that colour around. Pitty about the heating, not nice slipping off a nut and hitting your hand in the freezing cold!
