too big????
Hi
I am looking at some wheels for my '67 beetle but i am thinking they may be a bit big. They are 18x8 et50mm so i was wondering does it seem like they
are gonna be to big and really screw up my turning circle and stuff also would anyone happen to have a photo of a bug with 18 inch wheels on them i
wanna see how high they sit ? ill see if i can include a pik of the rims
you can see the wheels at http://wheeldynamics.net/Wheels3.jpg
Cheers

they look nothing like cup 2's..or do you mean cup 3 turbo twists? :S although i swear they still look like the cup 4 from mille miglia
(spelling?)
im not sure with your standard beetle. but i do know that even for a super. in order to fit 17x7 up front under stock guards i am going to be getting
narrowed struts. at the rear on a super 8' wide is fine but im not sure with a standard beetle sorry.
someone must know for this guy.
free bump for ya anyway.

The ET50 is what will cause problems. Here are my Cup 3 turbo twist replicas which are 17 x 7.5 (ET52)

I have a ball joint front end with CB dropped spindles and discs in porsche pcd. Originally I installed them with standard width beam and no spacers
and I could hardly turn the steering wheel before the inner edge of the rim hit the trailing arm (lower).
So I had 20mm spacers machined (engineer approved as they were considered part of the brake conversion) - this fixed the turning circle problem, but
then the outer edge of the tyre fouled the lip of the guard.
So then I had to narrow the beam 80mm and now all is well.
Anything is possible with time and money
Check out the http://www.germanlook.com/Forums site in the wheels section -
may find some more help there.
